12/7/17- Benjamin Von Wong
This weeks photographer in Benjamin Von Wong. I like his style of photography because its very weird to some people but you have to really look at the picture to find its meaning behind it. it is staged photography and its important to get the best shot the first to avoid the extra photo shop and editing. this picture is really good in focus and detail and I like how everyone in the picture has emotion in their face.
11/30/17- Anne Geddes
This weeks photographer is Anne Geddes. She is most known for her photography with babies and she does staged photography . This photo shows two babies dressed as chipmunks. I think that this photo is really good in composition and focus. Since she is a professional photographer I wouldn't change anything about this picture. Other than the watermarks below the picture I think that its a really good picture and that its a very cool style of photography.

Todays blog is of a photo edit I did today. I really liked how it came out and I think that it really shows the best parts of the pictures. I like how the edited picture really makes the colors pop in the sky and how the sun is more exposed as well. also I like how the sun that was shinning through the clouds was more exposed as well. I think that the picture could have been more taken of the sky rather than the grass field but overall I think the picture is an B or C.
11/16/17- Alfred Stieglitz
This weeks photographer is Alfred Stieglitz. He is most known for his black and white photography. I think this picture really shows a scene and its main purpose. Its obviously a rainy day and there are many people with umbrellas as the streets start to flood. I would say that the composition is off but I think that he tried to photograph the flooding streets in the picture. I like the black and white filter because I think it really finishes off the picture especially with the rain.
11/15/17
Recently I have been editing my photos in a certain way. I really like having tints of pastel colors such as blue and purple. I think that it looks a little more un-realistic but I think that's what gives a cool effect to the picture. I use the app VSCO to edit my picture and I like using that app because it gives you the control to change the saturation, exposure, temperature , and many other things to the picture. For the overall photo I think that its a pretty good picture but I wish that the trees on the right wouldn't be there because its a little distracting to the whole picture. Since there was nothing else I could do about the tree other than maybe waiting till I assed the trees to take the picture, I think that this picture would be graded as a B but if more effort was put in the picture than I think it could of had reached an A.

Todays blog is of an edited photo that was once in color but then turned into black and white. I usually don't go for the black and white filter because I like having the different colors in my pictures but this turned out good in my opinion. I personally like this picture better in black and white because it gives off a busy city look. I like how the picture goes white where the sun hits the different buildings and the busy streets and how it turns black to the other half of the picture.
11/9/17
This photo was taken of yesterdays sunset. I think the palm trees really went with the sunset. Although the picture was a little blurry I think that it gave a nice effect to the picture. If a little more effort was put into this picture I think that it could have been more sharp and could have captured the color of the clouds more.
11/8/17
This picture was to capture yesterdays sunset. This was taken from the window from my house and I took multiple shots. I don't think this picture turned out great because the view of the sunset from my house isn't that good and I didn't capture most of the sky. I think little things like facing the camera upwards and changing the lighting could have helped a lot.

11/3/17
Todays blog is of the photographer Brandon Woefel. I originally found out about his photography from social media and later found out that he is a photographer in New York. I like his style of photography a lot because it gives off a very luminescent vibe. Many of his pictures are very pastel colors and fairy lights. This photo is one of my favorite because its the one that made me discover him. I really like the shades of light purple to white and the pops of color from the airy lights. I would say that he's my inspiration photography wise and I hope to become as good of a photographer as him one day.
11/2/17- Lee Miller
This weeks photographer is Lee Miller and she takes fine art fashion photography. Since I don't have any pictures of my own of her, had to look some up online. Since I got this picture from the internet there was a little watermark on the bottom left of the picture. Besides that, I think that the picture shows lots of beauty from the lady riding the bike to the dog sitting in the little basket. I think that the composition is a little off but I think that's what's make up the picture as well as the black and white filter.
10/27/17
This was the original photo from yesterdays blog. It was cropped because my friend , Pauline Marquez, said that her mascara looked bad. Personally, I think that the picture isn't about how good makeup looks but more of the beauty in characteristics like eye color or the creases below our eyes. She later gave me permission to put this picture on my page. I think that the picture looked better with both of our eyes in it as it shows our differences in skin color, eye color, and our other different characteristics.
10/26/17
This photo was taken by my friend Elisa Medina. It was taken with the iPhone 7 plus with a filter over it. I think this picture is very high in quality and focus. I do wish that the picture could have been better with size as it would make the picture more appealing. also I wish that the picture could have been turned so that you didn't have to turn your head to look at the picture. however that could be fixed with some simple editing.
10/25/17
This photo was taken on Friday as a spirit day. Multiple shots were taken as we were doing different poses. I personally think that after the photo was edited it looked better. However I do wish that when editing it didn't give off such a golden tint. I do like how it is better cropped and more exposed.
10/24/17- Diana Kim
This weeks photographer is Diana Kim. She photographs homeless people because her dad was one of them. Her photographs are mostly in black and white. I think this picture has a lot of meaning behind it as it shows the difference between wealthy and poor people. As for the picture, I think that it could have better composition but I think that the photographer was not looking for perfection in a picture but more like a meaning.
10/23/17
This picture was taken at SeaWorld during homecoming night. I think this picture could have been better by its size and I think that the lighting could be better with some editing. Overall I think the composition is good but could however be cropped from the left.
10/20/17
This photo was sent to me by a friend because she got to see the musical Hamilton. I think this photo captures the scene in the moment as the crowded seats in the theatre are being filled and the playbill is obviously shown. Something that could be improved is the quality of the picture, although it was probably dark in the theatre. also I wish that the picture could have been bigger in a higher resolution.
9/19/17
This picture was taken at the cheesecake factory for my birthday. I think that this is a pretty good picture of what it represents. although the candle did give a little bit of a glare I think the picture still came out good. I wish that the colors of the cake were more saturated.
8/18/17- Vivian Maier
This weeks photographer is Vivian Maier. Most of her photos are in black and white and she captures pictures of the city and people of New York. She become more known two years later after her death. In this picture shows a young child crying. although I do not know the story behind this picture I can tell that the composition is great and so is the emotion.
10/17/17
This photo was published as my entry for youth art month. I picked this picture because I think it was a good example of fine art. At first I didn't think that it was good composition but then I realized that the curves of the other windows made a nice affect to the picture. I like how the picture is very sharp and focused and the contrast of colors and patterns.
10/16/17
This picture was taken on my birthday at BVH. We decided to take pictures in front of the murals. Many pictures were taken but I felt this one turned out good. Although the balloons could have been more centered for the picture and our legs could be seen, I think this picture has really good focus and great colors.
10/13/17
This picture was taken at the benches near the softball field in BVH. This was after school so we were very tired after the day. This picture could have improved a lot by having the background be more appealing and maybe being less slanted. This was taken just for fun but I think it shows emotion at the moment the picture was taken.
10/12/17
This photo is from todays photo shop. I'm still learning how to use photo shop but I think that this picture could have been more detailed. I used the photo shop app to cut out the picture of my friend Pauline then used an image from google of a volcano. Hopefully later on in the year I get to use more details and photo shop and get better.
10/10/17
This picture was taken at Napa Valley in an ice cream shop. This picture could have been enlarged due to its small size. Also lighting could have been better. Although there could have been nothing that wouldn't be better when taking the picture at that moment, I think that some editing and photoshop could have improved this picture.
10/9/17
This picture was taken in a restaurant with very low lighting. I had to work with what I had so when taking the picture I tapped on the cake to put as much lighting on it as possible. I thought that with the other deserts in the background, the picture would look better but I think that if the picture was just focused on the cake then it would have been better. Maybe I should have cropped it to size and focused more on the cake itself.
10/6/17
This image was captured during fall break when my friend Naomi came over to my house. We were playing with the different lighting in my room so I decided to take a quick picture of this silhouette style picture. When taking the picture I taped on the blinds so that all of the lighting would focus on the blinds and would make Naomi more darker. This picture could have had been bigger as it was taken on a phone and on the bottom left corner, there are blankets that are some what distracting to the picture. Overall I think that this is a very unique style of photography.
10/5/17
This photo was taken with an I phone 6s in San Francisco. This photo was zoomed in for better composition. Due to zooming in, the picture lost much of its focus and quality. Maybe stepping more to the left would be a better idea so that I could capture more of the main focus of the photo. I tried to get most of the clustered houses and apartments as I could. Cropping and focus would be a big impact on this picture.
10/4/17
This photo was taken on the bay bridge in SF. I took multiple shots while crossing the bridge as it is a popular tourist site. This photo ended up being taken in the front facing camera and was taken from behind the car. This photo could improve a lot by having less of the car showing. Also the lines distract a lot from the main point of the picture. Taking it sooner and zooming in might have helped a lot.
9/15/17
This weeks photographer is Man Ray.The type of photography that he does is surrealism. In this picture it shows a woman with very long hair hanging upside down. It has a type of filter on it where it looks very ancient. I cant say that I would want to improve anything of this picture as I respect the photographers style. It is good in composition and focus as well.
9/14/17
This photo was taken in the morning of 9/14/17. I was getting ready and decided to take a picture. I was okay with the outcome of the picture because I liked how the lip gloss had a reflection on the mirror. As I was taking this picture I noticed that the label had smudged off a little so I tried my best to cover that. I think that I could have put my phone more to the right to capture more of the lip gloss rather than the obvious blinds in the background.
9/13/17
This picture was from yesterdays ( 9/13/17) volleyball game. It has been edited by cropping and making it more exposed. This picture could have been more focused and clear as it was taken very quick. It was taken with a iPhone 6s ,and maybe if I were to move up closer or zoomed in the picture could have been more clear. Also when editing the photo, the photo has become much smaller.
9/12/17
this picture is of a book I'm reading for English. Its called " The Alchemist" and I have just started reading. I tried to show some of my shoes in the picture so that it wouldn't just be a picture of a book. This picture could improve by making it cropped better for better composition. Also I could have gotten more of the book in the picture to have a better view of it.
9/11/17
This photo was taken on 9/11/17. I decided to wear this bracelet that I got from Hawaii this summer. This photo was taken very quick as I just wanted to capture it for memory. This photo could have improved by having the table line up with the picture to make the picture more appealing. I could have move my arm a bit more to get this effect.
9,8,17- Blog cancelled, Lim photo assignment- Day 2
9/7/17- Blog cancelled, Lim photo assignment
9/6/17
This is a photo shopped picture that is inspired by Andy Warhol. I used a website to edit this photo into pop art style. I could have used adobe photo shop but I thought it would be easier to do this instead. The website did not have any editing settings so I couldn't change the look of the photo shopped image. I wish that the pop of colors could have been more opaque so it could have a better look to the photo.
9/5/17
Todays photo was taken on 9/4/17 at my house. My friend , Elisa Medina, and I found a dog wandering around my neighborhood. I do not think it was lost as it went back into a house. I asked my friend to take picture of me with the dog and these are the outcome. This picture could have improved by having the lines on the garage be straight for the picture as it makes the picture look more appealing.
9/1/17- William Wegman
This weeks photographer is William Wegman. He is most popular for his indoor photography with dogs. Dogs may be more complicated or easier to deal with when taking photos. He makes it much easier as it seems. In this picture shows a dog holding a dog on a leash. I would imagine that there is a human inside the coat to help take the picture. I wouldn't have anything to improve with this photo as it has good composition and focus. I also find his style in photography very interesting.
8/31/17
This photo was taken on the way to SF. It was passing by the ocean and it was a nice and sunny day. I tried to capture as much of the ocean as possible rather than the road. I wish I could have gotten a better shot of the ocean in the background and my composition could also improve. I think that the view in person looked better than the picture.
8/30/17
This photo was photo shopped on 8/30/17. I am still learning ting other images onto others. I tried to put waves on the reflection on the sunglasses. I did achieve my goal however I wish that the waves looked more noticeable and I wish I learned how I could fade the edges of the borders on the wave so that it would look more natural than photo shopped.
8/29/17
This photo was taken in a restaurant while my sister and I were waiting for our food. This was taken quick as I just wanted to save it because it looked nice. I could have taken more time on it and tried not to get the glare of the lights on the ceiling. Also my sister and I could have moved out of the way so that you cant see our reflection in the picture.
8/28/17
This photo was taken at a sushi place in southern SF. It was taken very quickly and I tried to get most of the picture as possible. This picture could improve a lot by having it cropped to not see the wall on the left of the picture. Also it would have been better if there were more sushi displayed as it would make the picture have more of a purpose.
8/25/17
This photo was taken on a cold day in San Francisco. I wasn't looking for emotion in the picture but more of everyone reacting to the cold weather. There was a line for hot drinks and the cold wind. This photo could have improved by stepping to the right a few places so that I could get a better shot of the little coffee shop rather than having more background to the right.
8/24/17
This photo was taken on 7/20/17 at pier 39. This part of the pier is where most people go to just look at the view, mostly Alcatraz island. This photo doesn't have much of a person as I only took it for fun. This photo could have improved by waiting so that I could see a better view of everything in sight like the cities and the island.
8/22/17- Annie Leibovitz
This weeks photographer is Annie Leibowitz. She is famous for her photography with portraits. She has taken pictures of many people just like the one above. In the picture above is a self portrait of Jenifer Lawrence. This photo is great in composition and focus. I cant say much for how it could improve other than the background could be in a straight line. Other than that the photo is perfect as is.
8/21/17
This photo was taken on 7/20/17 at pier 39. It was a cold day but there was still many people visiting the touristy places in SF. The main purpose of this photo was to capture how crowded it was with all the people and still capture the stores and cold weather. This photo could improve by having less of the sky and more cropped. Also maybe stepping to the side a little to capture more of the people.
8/17/17
This photo was taken at San Francisco at a candy shop. This candy shop was filled with taffy and the different colors was great for photography. Since it was a gloomy day outside, it wasn't great lighting to capture all the colors. Something that I could have done to improve this picture is that the lighting could have been back-lit so that I could capture all of the colors.
8/16/17-Elena Shumilova
This weeks photographer is Elena Shumilova. she is a photographer best known for taking pictures of her kids with very good lighting. Most of her photos are at the time of day where the sun is just rising and beaming of light. However, this picture that I have chosen is at night time in the winter. This still shows the effect of the street light on the snow. This picture could improve by showing what her child is looking at. I'm sure that is not the intention of the picture but other than that, the picture is perfect as is.
8/15/17
This picture was taken in the morning when the sun wasn't too bright. I had just rushed downstairs to get my lei for Moana day. this was taken very quick just for fun. Although I could have gotten my dogs attention for a better picture. I also could have had him on the floor instead of the chair to get a better background.
8/11/17
This photo is of Elisa Medina as she closes her eyes facing the sunlight. This photos composition is not that great and lighting as well. When taking the photo i thought that her facing the sunlight would have a nice effect but it could have been better if i took the picture of her whole face so that the picture would be more clear.
8/10/17
This photo was taken facing away from the sun as it was taken very quick. This photo could have improved by taking a few steps back and to the side. This could have had better lighting and more of the subject of the photo, not the background.
8/9/17
This photo was taken at my house as a morning breakfast. This was taken early in the morning when the sun wasnt too bright so i had to use flash to take the picture. What could have improved was the arrangement of the watermelon. It could have had the more ripe ones on the top to make the picture more appealing.
8/8/17
This photo was taken at the park at around 7:30 to watch the sunset. This photo is good by having the ombré effect of the sky with the trees in the background. This picture could have improved by cropping it better or taking it at a differnt angle to take out the post lights in the background.
8/7/17
This photo was taken on 8/6/17 after a game of tennis. I took this picture very quick jusy to capture the moment. I thought that the effect of the blurred image would create a nice effect but i think that it would have been better if it was focused better. To improve this photo i could have stood still and then taken the photo.
8/4/17
This photo was taken at the beach in Hawaii during summer break. This photo shows the beautiful water and my mom, cousin, and i. This picture could improve by making it have less foggy filter over it and make it cropped more.
8/3/17
This photo was taken at BVH on 8/3/17. It shows Bethanie Castillo givng different poses to the camera. What could improve in this picture is cropping since I thought that the big tree would be a nice background to the picture. I did get to capture the tree but did get extra things in the background.
8/2/17
Taken at Island Vintage Cafe at Hawaii on 7/12/17. This picture shows an acai bowl with the fruits arranged in a circle at the top. This photo could have been better if it was taken at a different view. Also it could improve by having a less crowded background to not distract from the main point of the picture.
8/1/17 - Ansel Adams
This photo taken by Ansel Adams was taken at Sierra Nevada. This photo is taken at worms-eye view. It display the rocks and the tall mountains in the background. The clouds are at the height of the mountains as some sunlight passes through them. Not much to improve as the picture is already bueatiful as is.
7/31/17
This photo was taken on 7/30/17 at the Liberty Public Market. This photo is very clear and shows the star of the photo, the sign that says liberty public market. What could improve in this photo is that cropping could be added. The photo is tilted to the side a little and is in a downward view. It can improve by cropping it.
7/28/17
This photo was taken in the Ala Moana mall in Hawaii. It was a poster advertising " vogue pressed juicery". This photo is clear and the audience is able to read the poster. But, the photo has a glare and is not centered. It can improve by having different lighting and a better angle.
7/27/17
iThis photo was taken in the busy streets of Los Angeles. The main point of this photo is the tall buildings and the busy road. This photo could improve its composition by cropping out the driver and the inside of the car. As well as waiting for the car to get closer to the buildings to get a closer shot.
7/26/17
This photo was taken on June 27, 2017 in the San Diego airport. This was taken very quick but still has focus on the main point of the picture, the sunglasses. The composition isnt that good due to the busy background in the back.
7/25/17
This is a photo of the airplane view of San Diego during night. What is good about this picture is that it shows the city at its finest with the shades of the city lights. Although this picture does have a big glare to the bottom corrner of the picture.
7/24/17
This photo shows a bouquet of roses with pops of the colors pink and white. What is good about this picture is that it shows every detail of the roses from texture to color. Something that could be improved on is a different angle to see the shadows of the roses.
